Hebrews 2:9
-
[Heb 2:9] The Head That Once Was Crowned
The head that once was crowned with thorns
Is crowned with glory now;
A royal diadem adorns
The mighty victor’s brow.The highest place that Heav’n affords
Belongs to Him by right;
The King of kings and Lord of lords,
And Heaven’s eternal Light.The joy of all who dwell above,
The joy of all below,
To whom He manifests His love,
And grants His Name to know.To them the cross with all its shame,
With all its grace, is given;
Their name an everlasting name,
Their joy the joy of Heaven.They suffer with their Lord below;
They reign with Him above;
Their profit and their joy to know
The mystery of His love.The cross He bore is life and health,
Though shame and death to Him,
His people’s hope, His people’s wealth,
Their everlasting theme.source: Cyberhymnal
Hebrews 2:14

[Heb 2:14] Christians, Sing The Incarnation
Christians, sing the incarnation
Of th’eternal Son of God,
Who, to save us, took our nature,
Soul and body, flesh and blood;
God, He saw man’s cruel bondage,
Who in death’s dark dungeon lay;
Man, He came to fight man’s battle,
And for man He won the day.
Alleluia, Alleluia
To th’incarnate Son of God,
Who for man as Man hath conquered
In our own true flesh and blood.King of kings and Lord of angels,
He put off His glory-crown,
Had a stable-cave for palace,
And a manger for His throne;
Helpless lay, to Whom creation
All its life and being owed,
And the lowly Hebrew maiden
Was the mother of her God.
Alleluia, Alleluia
To th’incarnate Son of God,
Who concealed His dazzling Godhead
’Neath the veil of flesh and blood.Through a life of lowly labor
He on earth was pleased to dwell,
All our want and sorrow sharing;
God with us, Emmanuel:
Yet, a dearer, closer union
Jesus in His love would frame;
He, the Passover fulfilling,
Gave Himself as paschal Lamb.
Alleluia, Alleluia
To th’incarnate Son of God,
Who the heav’nly gifts bequeathed us
Of His own true flesh and blood.Then, by man refused and hated,
God for man vouchsafed to die,
Love divine its depth revealing
On the heights of Calvary;
Through His dying the dominion
From the tyrant death was torn,
When its Victim rose its Victor
On the resurrection morn.
Alleluia, Alleluia
To th’incarnate Son of God,
Who through His eternal Spirit
Offers His own flesh and blood.Forty days of mystic converse
Lived on earth the Risen One,
Speaking of His earthly kingdom,
Ere He sought His heav’nly throne:
Then, His latest words a blessing,
He ascended up on high,
And through rank on rank of angels
Captive led captivity.
Alleluia, Alleluia
To th’incarnate Son of God,
Who the holiest place hath entered
In our flesh and by His blood.Now upon the golden altar,
In the midst before the throne,
Incense of His intercession
He is offering for His own.
And on earth at all His altars
His true presence we adore,
And His sacrifice is pleaded,
Yea, till time shall be no more.
Alleluia, Alleluia
To th’incarnate Son of God,
Who, abiding Priest forever,
Still imparts His flesh and blood.Then, adored in highest Heaven,
We shall see the virgin’s Son,
All creation bowed before Him,
Man upon th’eternal throne:
Where, like sound of many waters
In one ever rising flood,
Myriad voices hymn His triumph,
Victim, Priest, incarnate God.
Worthy He all praise and blessing
Who, by dying, death o’ercame;
Glory be to God forever!
Alleluia to the Lamb!Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Heb 2:14] Praise The Savior, Now And Ever
Praise the Savior now and ever;
Praise Him, all beneath the skies;
Prostrate lying, suff’ring, dying
On the cross, a sacrifice.
Vict’ry gaining, life obtaining,
Now in glory He doth rise.Man’s work faileth, Christ’s availeth;
He is all our righteousness;
He, our Savior, has forever
Set us free from dire distress.
Through His merit we inherit
Light and peace and happiness.Sin’s bonds severed, we’re delivered,
Christ has bruised the serpent’s head;
Death no longer is the stronger,
Hell itself is captive led.
Christ has risen from death’s prison,
O’er the tomb He light has shed.For His favor, praise forever,
Unto God the Father sing;
Praise the Savior, praise Him ever,
Son of God, our Lord and King.
Praise the Spirit, through Christ’s merit,
He doth us salvation bring.Play source: Cyberhymnal

[Heb 6:18] Hope Set Before You, The
Lay hold on the hope set before you,
And let not a moment be lost,
The Savior has purchased your ransom,
But think what a price it hath cost!Refrain
Lay hold on eternal salvation,
Lay hold on the gift of God’s only Son;
Lay hold on His infinite mercy,
Lay hold on the Mighty One!Lay hold on the hope set before you,
Of life that you now may receive,
If, gladly His mercy accepting,
You truly repent and believe.Refrain
Lay hold on the hope set before you,
Of joy that no mortal can speak;
It telleth of rest for the weary,
Through Jesus, the lowly and meek.Refrain
Lay hold on the hope set before you,
A hope that is steadfast and sure;
O haste to the blessèd Redeemer,
The loving, the perfect and pure.Refrain

[Heb 9:12] O Savior, Who For Man Hast Trod
O Savior, who for man hast trod
The winepress of the wrath of God,
Ascend, and claim again on high
Thy glory left for us to die.A radiant cloud is now Thy seat,
And earth lies stretched beneath Thy feet;
Ten thousand thousands round Thee sing,
And share the triumph of their King.The angel host enraptured waits:
“Lift up your heads, eternal gates!”
O God-and-Man! the Father’s throne
Is now forevermore Thine own.Our great High Priest and Shepherd Thou
Within the veil art entered now,
To offer here Thy precious blood
Once poured on earth a cleansing flood.And thence the Church, Thy chosen Bride,
With countless gifts of grace supplied,
Through all her members draws from Thee
Her hidden life of sanctity.O Christ, our Lord, of Thy dear care,
Thy lowly members heavenward bear;
Be ours with Thee to suffer pain,
With Thee forevermore to reign.All praise from every heart and tongue
To Thee, ascended Lord, be sung;
All praise to God the Father be
And Holy Ghost eternally.Play source: Cyberhymnal -

Saved by the blood of the Crucified One!
Now ransomed from sin and a new work begun,

The angels rejoicing because it is done;
A child of the Father, joint heir with the Son,
Saved by the blood of the Crucified One!Refrain
Saved by the blood of the Crucified One!
The Father He spake, and His will it was done;
Great price of my pardon, His own precious Son;
Saved by the blood of the Crucified One!Refrain

Hebrews 9:28

[Heb 9:28] One Day
One day when Heaven was filled with His praises,
One day when sin was as black as could be,
Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin,
Dwelt among men, my Example is He!Refrain
Living, He loved me; dying, He saved me;
Buried, He carried my sins far away;
Rising, He justified freely forever;
One day He’s coming—O glorious day!One day they led Him up Calvary’s mountain,
One day they nailed Him to die on the tree;
Suffering anguish, despised and rejected:
Bearing our sins, my Redeemer is He!Refrain
One day they left Him alone in the garden,
One day He rested, from suffering free;
Angels came down o’er His tomb to keep vigil;
Hope of the hopeless, my Savior is He!Refrain
One day the grave could conceal Him no longer,
One day the stone rolled away from the door;
Then He arose, over death He had conquered;
Now is ascended, my Lord evermore!Refrain
One day the trumpet will sound for His coming,
One day the skies with His glories will shine;
Wonderful day, my belovèd ones bringing;
Glorious Savior, this Jesus is mine!Refrain

[Heb 9:28] Upon The Cross Extended
Upon the cross extended,
See, world, thy Lord suspended.
Thy Savior yields His breath.
The Prince of Life from Heaven
Himself hath freely given
To shame and blows and bitter death.Come hither now and ponder,
’Twill fill thy soul with wonder,
Blood streams from every pore.
Through grief whose depth none knoweth,
From His great heart there floweth
Sigh after sigh of anguish o’er.Who is it that hath bruised Thee?
Who hath so sore abused Thee
And caused Thee all Thy woe?
While we must make confession
Of sin and dire transgression,
Thou deeds of evil dost not know.I caused Thy grief and sighing
By evils multiplying
As countless as the sands.
I caused the woes unnumbered
With which Thy soul is cumbered,
Thy sorrows raised by wicked hands.’Tis I who should be smitten,
My doom should here be written;
Bound hand and foot in hell.
The fetters and the scourging,
The floods around Thee surging,
’Tis I who have deserved them well.The load Thou takest on Thee,
That pressed so sorely on me,
It crushed me to the ground.
The cross for me enduring,
The crown for me securing,
My healing in Thy wounds is found.A crown of thorns Thou wearest,
My shame and scorn Thou bearest,
That I might ransomed be.
My Bondsman, ever willing,
My place with patience filling,
From sin and guilt hast made me free.Thy cords of love, my Savior,
Bind me to Thee forever,
I am no longer mine.
To Thee I gladly tender
All that my life can render
And all I have to Thee resign.Thy cross I’ll place before me,
Its saving power be o’er me,
Wherever I may be;
Thine innocence revealing,
Thy love and mercy sealing,
The pledge of truth and constancy.How God at our transgression
To anger gives expression,
How loud His thunders roll,
How fearfully He smiteth,
How sorely He requiteth—
All this Thy sufferings teach my soul.When evil men revile me,
With wicked tongues defile me,
I’ll curb my vengeful heart.
The unjust wrong I’ll suffer,
Unto my neighbor offer
Forgiveness of each bitter smart.Thy groaning and Thy sighing,
Thy bitter tears and dying,
With which Thou was opprest—
They shall, when life is ending,
Be guiding and attending
My way to Thine eternal rest.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Heb 9:28] When Jesus Comes
Down life’s dark vale we wander,
Till Jesus comes;
We watch and wait and wonder,
Till Jesus comes.Refrain
All joy His loved ones bringing,
When Jesus comes;
All praise through heaven ringing,
When Jesus comes.
All beauty bright and vernal,
When Jesus comes;
All glory, grand, eternal,
When Jesus comes.Oh, let my lamp be burning
When Jesus comes;
For Him my soul be yearning
When Jesus comes.Refrain
No more heart pangs nor sadness,
When Jesus comes;
All peace and joy and gladness,
When Jesus comes.Refrain
All doubts and fears will vanish,
When Jesus comes;
All gloom His face will banish,
When Jesus comes.Refrain
He’ll know the way was dreary,
When Jesus comes;
He’ll know the feet grew weary,
When Jesus comes.Refrain
He’ll know what griefs oppressed me,
When Jesus comes;
Oh, how His arms will rest me!
When Jesus comes.Refrain

Hebrews 12:1
-
[Heb 12:1] Looking This Way
Over the river, faces I see,
Fair as the morning, looking for me;
Free from their sorrow, grief and despair,
Waiting and watching patiently there.Refrain
Looking this way, yes, looking this way,
Loved ones are waiting, looking this way;
Fair as the morning, bright as the day,
Dear ones in glory, looking this way.Father and mother, safe in that vale,
Watch for the boatman, wait for the sail,
Bearing their loved ones over the tide,
Into the harbor, near to their side.Refrain
Brother and sister, gone to that clime,
Wait for the others, coming sometime,
Safe with the angels, whiter than snow,
Watching for dear ones, waiting below.Refrain
Sweet little darling, light of the home,
Looking for someone, beckoning, “Come”;
Bright as a sunbeam, pure as the dew,
Anxiously looking, mother, for you.Refrain

[Heb 12:1] O Father, By Whose Servants
Our Father, by Whose servants
Our house was built of old,
Whose hand hath crowned her children
With blessing manifold,
For Thine unfailing mercies
Far-strewn along our way,
With all who passed before us,
We praise Thy Name today.The changeful years unresting
Their silent course have sped,
New comrades ever bringing
In comrades’ steps to tread;
And some are long forgotten,
Long spent their hopes and fears;
Safe rest they in Thy keeping,
Who changest not with years.They reap not where they labored;
We reap what they have sown;
Our harvest may be garnered
By ages yet unknown.
The days of old have dowered us
With gifts beyond all praise;
Our Father, make us faithful
To serve the coming days.Before us and beside us,
Still holden in Thine hand
A cloud unseen of witness,
Our elder comrades stand:
One family unbroken,
We join, with one acclaim,
One heart, one voice uplifting
To glorify Thy Name.Play source: Cyberhymnal
