Hebrews 2:7

• [Heb 2:7] O Jesus, Crowned With All Renown

  O Jesus, crowned with all renown, Since Thou the earth hast trod, Thou reignest, and by Thee come down Henceforth the gifts of God. Thine is the health and Thine the wealth That in our halls abound, And Thine the beauty and the joy With which the years are crowned. Lord, in their change, let frost and heat, And winds and dews be giv’n; All fostering power, all influence sweet, Breathe from the bounteous Heav’n. Attemper fair with gentle air The sunshine and the rain, That kindly earth with timely birth May yield her fruits again. That we may feed the poor aright, And gathering round Thy throne, Here, in the holy angels’ sight, Repay Thee of Thine own: That we may praise Thee all our days, And with the Father’s Name, And with the Holy Spirit’s gifts, The Savior’s love proclaim.

Hebrews 10:10

• [Heb 10:10] Once, Only Once

  Once, only once, and once for all, His precious life He gave; Before the cross in faith we fall, And own it strong to save. “One off’ring, single and complete,” With lips and hearts we say; But what He never can repeat He shows forth day by day. For as the priest of Aaron’s line Within the holiest stood, And sprinkled all the mercy shrine With sacrificial blood; So He, who once atonement wrought, Our Priest of endless power, Presents Himself for those He bought In that dark noontide hour. His manhood pleads where now it lives On heaven’s eternal throne, And where in mystic rite He gives Its presence to His own. And so we show Thy death, O Lord, Till Thou again appear, And feel, when we approach Thy board, We have an altar here.

• [Heb 10:10] True Messiah Now Appears, The

  The true Messiah now appears, The types are all withdrawn; So fly the shadows and the stars Before the rising dawn. No smoking sweets, nor bleeding lambs, Nor kid nor bullock slain; Incense and spice of costly names Would all be burnt in vain. Aaron must lay his robes away, His miter and his vest, When God Himself comes down to be The offering and the priest. He took our mortal flesh to show The wonders of His love; For us He paid His life below, And prays for us above. “Father,” He cries, “forgive their sins, For I Myself have died”; And then He shows His opened veins And pleads His wounded side.

• [Heb 10:23] I Was Made A Christian

  I was made a Christian When my name was giv’n, One of God’s dear children, And an heir of Heaven. In the name of Christian I will glory now, Evermore remember My baptismal vow. I must, like a Christian Shun all evil ways, Keep the faith of Jesus, Serve Him all my days. Called to be a Christian I will praise the Lord, Seek for His assistance So to keep my word. All a Christian’s blessings I will claim for mine; Holy work and worship, Fellowship divine. Father, Son, and Spirit, Give me grace, that I, Still may live a Christian, And a Christian die.

  He who brought His ancient people, With a strong and mighty hand, Out of all their cruel bondage, Into Canaan’s promised land. Refrain He has said, and we believe it, ’Tis a promise made of old, From the trusting and the loving No good thing will He withhold.
