Hebrews 2:11

Context
2:11 For indeed he who makes holy and those being made holy all have the same origin, 1  and so 2  he is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters, 3

Hebrews 7:19

Context
7:19 for the law made nothing perfect. On the other hand a better hope is introduced, through which we draw near to God.

Hebrews 7:28

Context
7:28 For the law appoints as high priests men subject to weakness, 4  but the word of solemn affirmation that came after the law appoints a son made perfect forever.

Hebrews 9:17

Context
9:17 For a will takes effect only at death, since it carries no force while the one who made it is alive.

1 tn Grk “are all from one.”

2 tn Grk “for which reason.”

3 tn Grk “brothers,” but the Greek word may be used for “brothers and sisters” as here (cf. BDAG 18 s.v. ἀδελφός 1, where considerable nonbiblical evidence for the plural ἀδελφοί [adelfoi] meaning “brothers and sisters” is cited). The context here also indicates both men and women are in view; note especially the collective τὰ παιδία (ta paidia) in v. 14.

4 sn See Heb 5:2 where this concept was introduced.
