Genesis 41:21

Context
41:21 When they had eaten them, 1  no one would have known 2  that they had done so, for they were just as bad-looking as before. Then I woke up.

41:35 They should gather all the excess food 3  during these good years that are coming. By Pharaoh’s authority 4  they should store up grain so the cities will have food, 5  and they should preserve it. 6

42:35 When they were emptying their sacks, there was each man’s bag of money in his sack! When they and their father saw the bags of money, they were afraid.

1 tn Heb “when they went inside them.”

2 tn Heb “it was not known.”

3 tn Heb “all the food.”

4 tn Heb “under the hand of Pharaoh.”

5 tn Heb “[for] food in the cities.” The noun translated “food” is an adverbial accusative in the sentence.

6 tn The perfect with vav (ו) consecutive carries the same force as the sequence of jussives before it.
