Genesis 39:1
Context39:1 Now Joseph had been brought down to Egypt. 6 An Egyptian named Potiphar, an official of Pharaoh and the captain of the guard, 7 purchased him from 8 the Ishmaelites who had brought him there.

3 tn Heb “so that my soul may bless you.” The presence of נַפְשִׁי (nafshi, “my soul”) as subject emphasizes Isaac’s heartfelt desire to do this. The conjunction indicates that the ritual meal must be first eaten before the formal blessing may be given.
