Genesis 24:35

Context
24:35 “The Lord has richly blessed my master and he has become very wealthy. 1  The Lord 2  has given him sheep and cattle, silver and gold, male and female servants, and camels and donkeys.

Genesis 31:33

31:33 So Laban entered Jacob’s tent, and Leah’s tent, and the tent of the two female servants, but he did not find the idols. 3  Then he left Leah’s tent and entered Rachel’s. 4

45:23 To his father he sent the following: 5  ten donkeys loaded with the best products of Egypt and ten female donkeys loaded with grain, food, and provisions for his father’s journey.

1 tn Heb “great.” In this context the statement refers primarily to Abraham’s material wealth, although reputation and influence are not excluded.

2 tn Heb “and he.” The referent (the Lord) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

3 tn No direct object is specified for the verb “find” in the Hebrew text. The words “the idols” have been supplied in the translation for clarification.
