Genesis 22:13

22:13 Abraham looked up¹ and saw² behind him³ a ram caught in the bushes by its horns. So he⁴ went over and got the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son.

Genesis 27:27

Context
27:27 So Jacob⁵ went over and kissed him. When Isaac caught the scent⁶ of his clothing, he blessed him, saying,

“Yes,⁷ my son smells

like the scent of an open field

which the Lord has blessed.

¹tn Heb “lifted his eyes.”

²tn Heb “and saw, and look.” The particle הִנֵּה (hinneh, “look”) draws attention to what Abraham saw and invites the audience to view the scene through his eyes.

³tc The translation follows the reading of the MT; a number of Hebrew mss, the LXX, Syriac, and Samaritan Pentateuch read “one” (אֶחָד, ’ekhad) instead of “behind him” (אַחַר, ’akhar).

⁴tn Heb “Abraham”; the proper name has been replaced by the pronoun (“he”) in the translation for stylistic reasons.

⁵tn Heb “and he”; the referent (Jacob) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

⁶tn Heb “and he smelled the smell”; the referent (Isaac) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

displaying	set the max displaying in one page.	"20" will set displaying max to 20 per page
range	set searching range	"All Bible", "Old Testament", "New Testament"
