Ezra 3:12

3:12 Many of the priests, the Levites, and the leaders 1  – older people who had seen with their own eyes the former temple while it was still established 2  – were weeping loudly, 3  and many others raised their voice in a joyous shout.

Ezra 6:9

6:9 Whatever is needed – whether oxen or rams or lambs or burnt offerings for the God of heaven or wheat or salt or wine or oil, as required by 4  the priests who are in Jerusalem – must be given to them daily without any neglect,

Ezra 9:15

Context
9:15 O Lord God of Israel, you are righteous, for we are left as a remnant this day. Indeed, we stand before you in our guilt. However, because of this guilt 5  no one can really stand before you.”

2 sn The temple had been destroyed some fifty years earlier by the Babylonians in 586 b.c.
