Ezekiel 7:22

Ezekiel 30:16

Context

30:16 I will ignite a fire in Egypt;

Syene 3  will writhe in agony,

Thebes will be broken down,

and Memphis will face enemies every day.

Ezekiel 39:29

Context
39:29 I will no longer hide my face from them, when I pour out my Spirit on the house of Israel, 4  declares the sovereign Lord.”

Ezekiel 43:3

Context
43:3 It was like the vision I saw when he 5  came to destroy the city, and the vision I saw by the Kebar River. I threw myself face down.

1 sn My treasured place probably refers to the temple (however, cf. NLT “my treasured land”).

2 sn Since the pronouns “it” are both feminine, they do not refer to the masculine “my treasured place”; instead they probably refer to Jerusalem or the land, both of which are feminine in Hebrew.

3 tc The LXX reads “Syene,” which is Aswan in the south. The MT reads Sin, which has already been mentioned in v. 15.

4 sn See Ezek 11:19; 37:14.

5 tc Heb “I.” The reading is due to the confusion of yod (י, indicating a first person pronoun) and vav (ו, indicating a third person pronoun). A few medieval Hebrew mss, Theodotion’s Greek version, and the Latin Vulgate support a third person pronoun here.
