Ezekiel 5:12

Context
5:12 A third of your people will die of plague or be overcome by the famine within you. 1  A third of your people will fall by the sword surrounding you, 2  and a third I will scatter to the winds. I will unleash a sword behind them.

Ezekiel 27:27

Context

27:27 Your wealth, products, and merchandise, your sailors and captains,

your ship’s carpenters, 3  your merchants,

and all your fighting men within you,

along with all your crew who are in you,

will fall into the heart of the seas on the day of your downfall.

Ezekiel 29:5

Context

29:5 I will leave you in the wilderness,

you and all the fish of your waterways;

you will fall in the open field and will not be gathered up or collected. 4 

I have given you as food to the beasts of the earth and the birds of the skies.

Ezekiel 30:25

30:25 I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh will fall limp. Then they will know that I am the Lord when I place my sword in the hand of the king of Babylon and he extends it against the land of Egypt.

Ezekiel 31:16

31:16 I made the nations shake at the sound of its fall, when I threw it down to Sheol, along with those who descend to the pit. 5  Then all the trees of Eden, the choicest and the best of Lebanon, all that were well-watered, were comforted in the earth below.

1 sn The judgment of plague and famine comes from the covenant curse (Lev 26:25-26). As in v. 10, the city of Jerusalem is figuratively addressed here.

2 sn Judgment by plague, famine, and sword occurs in Jer 21:9; 27:13; Ezek 6:11, 12; 7:15.
