Ezekiel 4:14

4:14 And I said, “Ah, sovereign Lord, I have never been ceremonially defiled before. I have never eaten a carcass or an animal torn by wild beasts; from my youth up, unclean meat 1  has never entered my mouth.”

Ezekiel 11:7

11:7 Therefore, this is what the sovereign Lord says: ‘The corpses you have dumped 2  in the midst of the city 3  are the meat, and this city 4  is the cooking pot, but I will take you out of it. 5 

Ezekiel 33:25

33:25 Therefore say to them, ‘This is what the sovereign Lord says: You eat the meat with the blood still in it, 6  pray to 7  your idols, and shed blood. Do you really think you will possess 8  the land?

1 tn The Hebrew term refers to sacrificial meat not eaten by the appropriate time (Lev 7:18; 19:7).

2 tn Heb “placed.”

3 tn Heb “in its midst.”

4 tn Heb “she/it.” See v. 3.

5 tc Many of the versions read “I will bring you out” (active) rather than “he brought out” (the reading of MT).

6 sn This practice was a violation of Levitical law (see Lev 19:26).
