Ezekiel 24:13

Context

24:13 You mix uncleanness with obscene conduct. 1

I tried to cleanse you, 2  but you are not clean.

You will not be cleansed from your uncleanness 3

until I have exhausted my anger on you.

Ezekiel 39:15

Context
39:15 When the scouts survey 4  the land and see a human bone, they will place a sign by it, until those assigned to burial duty have buried it 5  in the valley of Hamon-Gog.

Ezekiel 46:17

Context
46:17 But if he gives a gift from his inheritance to one of his servants, it will be his until the year of liberty; 6  then it will revert to the prince. His inheritance will only remain with his sons.

1 tn Heb “in your uncleanness (is) obscene conduct.”

2 tn Heb “because I cleansed you.” In this context (see especially the very next statement), the statement must refer to divine intention and purpose. Despite God’s efforts to cleanse his people, they resisted him and remained morally impure.

3 tn The Hebrew text adds the word “again.”

4 tn Heb “as the scouts scout.”

5 tn That is, the aforementioned bone.

6 sn That is, the year of Jubilee (Lev 25:8-15).
