Ezekiel 26:15

Context

26:15 “This is what the sovereign Lord says to Tyre: Oh, how the coastlands will shake at the sound of your fall, when the wounded groan, at the massive slaughter in your midst!

Ezekiel 40:42

Context
40:42 The four tables for the burnt offering were of carved stone, 32 inches 3  long, 32 inches 4  wide, and 21 inches 5  high. They would put the instruments which they used to slaughter the burnt offering and the sacrifice on them.

1 tn Heb “their reproach.”

2 tn Heb “to contain, endure.” Since the Hebrew text as it stands makes little, if any, sense, most emend the text to read either “to consume” or “for destruction.” For discussion of options see D. I. Block, Ezekiel (NICOT), 1:693.

3 tn Heb “one and a half cubits” (i.e., 78.75 cm).

4 tn Heb “one and a half cubits” (i.e., 78.75 cm).

5 tn Heb “one cubit” (i.e., 52.5 cm).
