Ezekiel 20:38

Context
20:38 I will eliminate from among you the rebels and those who revolt 1  against me. I will bring them out from the land where they have been residing, but they will not come to the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Lord.

Ezekiel 33:12

Context

33:12 “And you, son of man, say to your people, 2  ‘The righteousness of the righteous will not deliver him if he rebels. 3  As for the wicked, his wickedness will not make him stumble if he turns from it. 4  The righteous will not be able to live by his righteousness 5  if he sins.’ 6

1 tn See the note at 2:3.

2 tn Heb “the sons of your people.”

3 tn Heb “in the day of his rebellion.” The statement envisions a godly person rejecting what is good and becoming sinful. See D. I. Block, Ezekiel (NICOT), 2:247-48.

4 tn Heb “and the wickedness of the wicked, he will not stumble in it in the day of his turning from his wickedness.”

5 tn Heb “by it.”

6 tn Heb “in the day of his sin.”
