Ezekiel 19:11

Context

19:11 Its boughs were strong, fit 1  for rulers’ scepters; it reached up into the clouds.

It stood out because of its height and its many branches. 2 

Ezekiel 24:11

Context

24:11 Set the empty pot on the coals, 3 

until it becomes hot and its copper glows,

until its uncleanness melts within it and its rot 4  is consumed.

Ezekiel 31:5

Context

31:5 Therefore it grew taller than all the trees of the field;

its boughs grew large and its branches grew long,

because of the plentiful water in its shoots. 5 

Ezekiel 31:7

Context

31:7 It was beautiful in its loftiness, in the length of its branches;

for its roots went down deep to plentiful waters.

Ezekiel 40:37

40:37 Its jambs 6  faced the outer court, and it had decorative palm trees on its jambs, on either side, and its stairway had eight steps.

2 tn Heb “and it was seen by its height and by the abundance of its branches.”

3 tn Heb “set it upon its coals, empty.”

4 tn Or “rust” (so also in v. 12).

5 tn Heb “when it sends forth.” Repointing the consonants of the Masoretic text would render the proposed reading “shoots” (cf. NRSV).

6 tc The LXX reads “porches.”
