Ezekiel 14:3

Context
14:3 “Son of man, these men have erected their idols in their hearts and placed the obstacle leading to their iniquity¹ right before their faces. Should I really allow them to seek² me?

Ezekiel 18:30

Context

18:30 “Therefore I will judge each person according to his conduct,³ O house of Israel, declares the sovereign Lord. Repent⁴ and turn from all your wickedness; then it will not be an obstacle leading to iniquity.⁵

¹tn Heb “the stumbling block of their iniquity.” This phrase is unique to the prophet Ezekiel.

²tn Or “I will not reveal myself to them.” The Hebrew word is used in a technical sense here of seeking an oracle from a prophet (2 Kgs 1:16; 3:11; 8:8).

³tn Heb “ways.”

⁴tn The verbs and persons in this verse are plural whereas the individual has been the subject of the chapter.

⁵tn Or “leading to punishment.”

range	set searching range	"All Bible", "Old Testament", "New Testament"
