Ezekiel 1:21

Context
1:21 When the living beings moved, the wheels moved, and when they stopped moving, the wheels stopped. 1  When they rose up from the ground, the wheels rose up from the ground; the wheels rose up beside them because the spirit of the living being was in the wheel.

Ezekiel 9:2

Context
9:2 Next, I noticed 2  six men 3  coming from the direction of the upper gate 4  which faces north, each with his war club in his hand. Among them was a man dressed in linen with a writing kit 5  at his side. They came and stood beside the bronze altar.

Ezekiel 48:18

Context
48:18 The remainder of the length alongside the holy allotment will be three and one-third miles 6  to the east and three and one-third miles toward the west, and it will be beside the holy allotment. Its produce will be for food for the workers of the city.

1 tc The LXX reads “when it went, they went; when it stood, they stood.”

tn Heb “when they went, they went; when they stood, they stood.”

2 tn The word הִנֵּה (hinneh, traditionally “behold”) indicates becoming aware of something and has been translated here as a verb.

3 sn The six men plus the scribe would equal seven, which was believed by the Babylonians to be the number of planetary deities.

4 sn The upper gate was built by Jotham (2 Kgs 15:35).

5 tn Or “a scribe’s inkhorn.” The Hebrew term occurs in the OT only in Ezek 9 and is believed to be an Egyptian loanword.

6 tn Heb “ten thousand cubits” (i.e., 5.25 kilometers); the phrase occurs again later in this verse.
