Exodus 4:7

4:7 He said, “Put your hand back into your robe.” So he put his hand back into his robe, and when he brought it out from his robe – there it was, 1  restored 2  like the rest of his skin! 3 

Exodus 34:35

Context
34:35 When the Israelites would see 4  the face of Moses, that 5  the skin of Moses’ face shone, Moses would put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with the Lord. 6 

1 tn The particle הִנֵּה (hinneh) points out the startling or amazing sight as if the reader were catching first glimpse of it with Moses.

2 tn Heb “it returned.”

3 tn Heb “like his flesh.”

4 tn Now the perfect tense with vav consecutive is subordinated to the next clause, “Moses returned the veil….”

5 tn Verbs of seeing often take two accusatives. Here, the second is the noun clause explaining what it was about the face that they saw.

6 tn Heb “with him”; the referent (the Lord) has been specified in the translation for clarity.
