Exodus 19:10

19:10 The Lord said to Moses, “Go to the people and sanctify them¹ today and tomorrow, and make them wash² their clothes

Context
40:9 And take³ the anointing oil, and anoint⁴ the tabernacle and all that is in it, and sanctify⁵ it and all its furnishings, and it will be holy.

Exodus 40:13

Context
40:13 Then you are to clothe Aaron with the holy garments and anoint him and sanctify him so that he may minister as my priest.

¹tn This verb is a Piel perfect with vav (ו) consecutive; it continues the force of the imperative preceding it. This sanctification would be accomplished by abstaining from things that would make them defiled or unclean, and then by ritual washings and ablutions.

²tn The form is a perfect 3cpl with a vav (ו) consecutive. It is instructional as well, but now in the third person it is like a jussive, “let them wash, make them wash.”

³tn Heb “you will take” (perfect with vav, ו).

⁴tn Heb “and you will anoint” (perfect with vav, ו).

⁵tn Heb “and you will sanctify” (perfect with vav, ו).

displaying	set the max displaying in one page.	"20" will set displaying max to 20 per page
range	set searching range	"All Bible", "Old Testament", "New Testament"
