Exodus 12:25

Context
12:25 When you enter the land that the Lord will give to you, just as he said, you must observe 1  this ceremony.

Exodus 13:6

Context
13:6 For seven days 2  you must eat 3  bread made without yeast, and on the seventh day there is to be 4  a festival to the Lord.

Exodus 33:21

Context
33:21 The Lord said, “Here 5  is a place by me; you will station yourself 6  on a rock.

1 tn The verb used here and at the beginning of v. 24 is שָׁמַר (shamar); it can be translated “watch, keep, protect,” but in this context the point is to “observe” the religious customs and practices set forth in these instructions.

2 tn Heb “Seven days.”

3 tn The imperfect tense functions with the nuance of instruction or injunction. It could also be given an obligatory nuance: “you must eat” or “you are to eat.” Some versions have simply made it an imperative.

4 tn The phrase “there is to be” has been supplied.

5 tn The deictic particle is used here simply to call attention to a place of God’s knowing and choosing.

6 tn Heb “and you will,” or interpretively, “where you will.”
