Ephesians 2:22
-
[Eph 2:22] O Come And Dwell In Me
O come and dwell in me,
Spirit of power within,
And bring the glorious liberty
From sorrow, fear, and sin.Hasten the joyful day
Which shall my sins consume,
When old things shall be done away,
And all things new become.I want the witness, Lord,
That all I do is right,
According to Thy mind and Word,
Well pleasing in Thy sight.I ask no higher state;
Indulge me but in this,
And soon or later then translate
To my eternal bliss.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Eph 2:22] O Holy Spirit, Enter In
O Holy Spirit, enter in,
Among these hearts Thy work begin,
Thy temple deign to make us;
Sun of the soul, Thou Light divine,
Around and in us brightly shine,
To strength and gladness wake us.
Where Thou shinest, life from Heaven
There is given; we before Thee
For that precious gift implore Thee.Give to Thy Word impressive pow’r
That in our hearts, from this good hour,
As fire it may be glowing;
That we confess the Father, Son,
And Thee, the Spirit, Three in One,
Thy glory ever showing.
Stay Thou, guide now
Our souls ever that they never
May forsake Thee.
May in love be still increasing.Thou Fountain whence all wisdom flows
Which God on pious hearts bestows,
Grant us Thy consolation
That in our pure faith’s unity
We faithful witnesses maybe
Of grace that bring salvation.
Hear us, cheer us,
By Thy teaching; let our preaching,
And our labor praise Thee,
Lord, and serve our neighbor.Left to ourselves, we shall but stray;
O lead us on the narrow way,
With wisest counsel guide us;
And give us steadfastness, that we
May henceforth truly follow Thee,
Whatever woes betide us;
Heal Thou gently hearts now broken,
Give some token Thou art near us,
Whom we trust to light and cheer us.Thy heavenly strength sustain our heart
That we may act the valiant part
With Thee as our Reliance;
Be Thou our Refuge and our Shield
That we may never quit the field,
But bid all foes defiance.
Descend, defend
From all errors and earth’s terrors
Thy salvation be our constant consolation.O mighty Rock, O Source of life,
Let Thy dear word ’mid doubt and strife
Be so within us burning,
That we be faithful unto death,
In Thy pure love and holy faith,
From Thee true wisdom learning!
Lord, Thy graces on us shower;
By Thy power Christ confessing,
Let us win His grace and blessing.O gentle Dew, from Heaven now fall
With power upon the hearts of all,
Thy tender love instilling,
That heart to heart more closely bound,
In kindly deeds be fruitful found,
The law of love fulfilling.
Dwell thus in us; Envy banish;
Strife will vanish where Thou livest.
Peace and love and joy Thou givest.Grant that our days, while life shall last,
In purest holiness be passed;
Our minds so rule and strengthen
That they may rise o’er things of earth,
The hopes and joys that here have birth;
And if our course Thou lengthen,
Keep Thou pure, Lord, from offenses
Heart and senses; blessèd Spirit,
Bid us thus true life inherit.Play source: Cyberhymnal
Ephesians 4:4
-
[Eph 4:4] Day Of Redemption
The day of redemption hath come with a song—
The song of redemption from sin so strong.
The angels first chanted it over a hill;
As Christmas returneth it echoes still.Refrain
Hail! Hail! day of redemption!
Hark the angel chorus rings!
Hail! Hail! day of redemption!
Bow before the King of kings!Redemption most wonderful!Gift from the sky,
Redeemer most gentle, so low to lie!
O herald so glorious sent from above,
To speak to the shepherds of God’s great love.Refrain
O marvel of tenderness!Marvel of light!
The King from the glory, so wondrous bright!
Is resting all quietly, pillowed on hay,
And gone is earth’s darkness!Behold! ’tis day!Refrain

Ephesians 4:30
-
[Eph 4:30] Holy Spirit, The
The Spirit, oh, sinner,
In mercy doth move,
Thy heart, so long hardened,
Of sin to reprove;
Resist not the Spirit,
Nor longer delay;
God’s gracious entreaties,
May end with today.Oh, child of the kingdom,
From sin service cease:
Be filled with the Spirit,
With comfort and peace.
Oh, grieve not the Spirit,
Thy Teacher is He,
That Jesus, Thy Savior,
May glorified be.Defiled is the temple,
Its beauty laid low,
On God’s holy altar
The embers faint glow.
By love yet rekindled,
A flame may be fanned;
Oh, quench not the Spirit,
The Lord is at hand.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Eph 4:30] I Want A Principle Within
I want a principle within of watchful, godly fear,
A sensibility of sin, a pain to feel it near.
I want the first approach to feel of pride or wrong desire,
To catch the wandering of my will, and quench the kindling fire.From Thee that I no more may stray, no more Thy goodness grieve,
Grant me the filial awe, I pray, the tender conscience give.
Quick as the apple of an eye, O God, my conscience make;
Awake my soul when sin is nigh, and keep it still awake.Almighty God of truth and love, to me Thy power impart;
The mountain from my soul remove, the hardness from my heart.
O may the least omission pain my reawakened soul,
And drive me to that blood again, which makes the wounded whole.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Eph 4:30] O Lord, While We Confess The Worth
O Lord, while we confess the worth
Of this the outward seal,
Do Thou the truths herein set forth
To every heart reveal.Death to the world we here avow,
Death to each fleshly lust;
Newness of life our calling now,
A risen Lord our trust.And we, O Lord, who now partake
Of resurrection life,
With every sin, for Thy dear sake,
Would be at constant strife.Baptized into the Father’s Name,
We’d walk as sons of God;
Baptized in Thine, we own Thy claim
As ransomed by Thy blood.Baptized into the Holy Ghost,
We’d keep His temple pure,
And make Thy grace our only boast,
And by Thy strength endure.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Eph 4:30] Stay, Thou Insulted Spirit, Stay
Stay, Thou insulted Spirit, stay,
Though I have done Thee such despite,
Nor cast the sinner quite away,
Nor take Thine everlasting flight.Though I have steeled my stubborn heart,
And still shook off my guilty fears,
And vexed, and urged Thee to depart,
For many long rebellious years;Though I have most unfaithful been
Of all who e’er Thy grace received,
Ten thousand times Thy goodness seen,
Ten thousand times Thy goodness grieved;Yet O! the chief of sinners spare,
In honor of my great High Priest,
Nor in Thy righteous anger swear
T’exclude me from Thy people’s rest.This only woe I deprecate.
This only plague I pray remove;
Nor leave me in my lost estate,
Nor curse me with this want of love.If yet Thou canst my sins forgive,
From now, O Lord, relieve my woes,
Into Thy rest of love receive,
And bless me with calm repose.Now, Lord, my weary soul release,
Upraise me with Thy gracious hand.
And guide into Thy perfect peace,
And bring me to the promised land.Play source: Cyberhymnal
Ephesians 6:17

[Eph 6:17] Gird On The Royal Armor
Gird on the royal armor,
Go forth in Jesus’ Name;
To those who sit in darkness
The Light of Life proclaim.Refrain
Gird on the royal armor,
That we the foe may face;
And trusting our Commander,
Be victors through His grace.Lift up the royal standard,
Go forth our cause to win,
With helmet, shield and buckler,
Against the hosts of sin.Refrain
With righteousness our breastplate,
The Spirit’s sword in hand,
Still conquering and to conquer,
Press on at God’s command.Refrain

[Eph 6:17] Hear The Call
Lo! the day of God is breaking;
See the gleaming from afar!
Sons of earth from slumber waking,
Hail the Bright and Morning Star.Refrain
Hear the call! O gird your armor on,
Grasp the Spirit’s mighty sword:
Take the helmet of salvation,
Pressing on to battle for the Lord!Trust in Him Who is your Captain;
Let no heart in terror quail;
Jesus leads the gath’ring legions,
In His Name we shall prevail.Refrain
Onward marching, firm and steady,
Faint not, fear not Satan’s frown,
For the Lord is with you always,
Till you wear the victor’s crown.Refrain
Conq’ring hosts with banners waving,
Sweeping on o’er hill and plain,
Ne’er shall halt till swells the anthem,
“Christ o’er all the world doth reign!”Refrain

[Eph 6:17] Inspirer Of The Ancient Seers
Inspirer of the ancient seers
Who wrote from Thee the sacred page,
The same through all succeeding years;
To us, in our degenerate age,
The spirit of Thy Word impart,
And breathe the life into our heart.While now Thine oracles we read
With earnest prayer and strong desire,
O let Thy Spirit from Thee proceed,
Our souls to waken and inspire,
Our weakness help, our darkness chase,
And guide us by the light of grace.Whene’er in error’s path we rove,
The living God through sin forsake,
Our conscience by Thy Word reprove,
Convince and bring the wanderers back,
Deep wounded by Thy Spirit’s sword,
And then by Gilead’s balm restored.The sacred lessons of Thy grace,
Transmitted through Thy Word, repeat,
And train us up in all Thy ways
To make us in Thy will complete;
Fulfill Thy love’s redeeming plan,
And bring us to a perfect man.Thus furnished from Thy treasury,
O may we always ready stand
To help the souls redeemed by Thee,
In what their various states demand
To teach, convince, correct, reprove,
And build them up in holiest love!Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Eph 6:17] O Blessed Word
Eternal life is in God’s Word
For dead and dying men;
By it alone we know the Lord,
Unseen by mortal ken.Refrain
O blessèd Word, O gracious Word,
We’ll love thee more and more;
Be thou our Life, our Strength, our Sword,
’Till earthly strife is o’er.God’s strength is in His holy Word;
We need it ev’ry day;
In all our conflicts this the sword
Our spirit foes to slay.Refrain
By this same Word we know our task,
And how it should be done;
How now to live, and how at last
Our crown is to be won.Refrain

[Eph 6:17] Precious Bible! What A Treasure
Precious Bible! what a treasure
Does the Word of God afford?
All I want for life or pleasure,
Food and med’cine, shield and sword:
Let the world account me poor,
Having this I need no more.Food to which the world’s a stranger,
Here my hungry soul enjoys;
Of excess there is no danger,
Though it fills, it never cloys:
On a dying Christ I feed,
He is meat and drink indeed.When my faith is faint and sickly,
Or when Satan wounds my mind,
Cordials, to revive me quickly,
Healing med’cines here I find:
To the promises I flee,
Each affords a remedy.In the hour of dark temptation
Satan cannot make me yield;
For the Word of consolation
Is to me a mighty shield
While the scripture truths are sure,
From his malice I’m secure.Vain his threats to overcome me,
When I take the Spirits’ sword;
Then with ease I drive him from me.
Satan trembles at the word:
’Tis a sword for conquest made,
Keen the edge, and strong the blade.Shall I envy then the miser
Doting on his golden store?
Sure I am, or should be, wiser,
I am rich, ’tis he is poor:
Jesus gives me in his word,
Food and med’cine, shield and sword.Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Eph 6:17] Soldiers Of The Cross, Arise! (how)
Soldiers of the cross, arise!
Gird you with your armor bright!
Mighty are your enemies,
Hard the battle ye must fight.O’er a faithless fallen world,
Raise your banner in the sky!
Let it float there wide unfurled!
Bear it onward! lift it high!Mid the homes of want and woe,
Strangers to the living Word,
Let the Savior’s herald go!
Let the voice of hope be heard!Where the shadows deepest lie,
Carry truth’s unsullied ray!
Where are crimes of blackest dye,
There the saving sign display!To the weary and the worn
Tell of realms where sorrows cease!
To the outcast and forlorn
Speak of mercy and of peace!Guard the helpless! seek the strayed!
Comfort troubles! banish grief!
In the might of God arrayed,
Scatter sin and unbelief!Be the banner still unfurled,
Still unsheathed the Spirit’s sword,
Till the kingdoms of the world
Are the kingdom of the Lord!Play source: Cyberhymnal -
[Eph 6:17] Stand Like The Brave
O Christian, awake! ’tis the Master’s command;
With helmet and shield, and a sword in thy hand,
To meet the bold tempter, go, fearlessly go,
Then stand like the brave, with thy face to the foe.Refrain
Stand like the brave, stand like the brave,
Stand like the brave, with thy face to the foe.The cause of thy Master with vigor defend;
Be watchful, be zealous, and fight to the end;
Wherever He leads thee, go, valiantly go,
Then stand like the brave, with thy face to the foe.Refrain
Press on, never doubting, thy Captain is near,
With grace to supply, and with comfort to cheer;
His love like a stream in the desert will flow;
Then stand like the brave, with thy face to the foe.Refrain

[Eph 6:17] When Thy Soldiers Take Their Swords
When Thy soldiers take their swords,
When they speak the solemn words,
When they kneel before Thee here,
Feeling Thee, their Father, near;
These Thy children, Lord, defend;
To their help Thy Spirit send.When the world’s sharp strife is nigh,
When they hear the battle cry,
When they rush into the fight,
Knowing not temptation’s might;
These Thy children, Lord, defend;
To their zeal Thy wisdom lend.When their hearts are lifted high
With success or victory,
When they feel the conqueror’s pride;
Lest they grow self satisfied,
These Thy children, Lord, defend;
Teach their souls to Thee to bend.When the vows that they have made,
When the prayers that they have prayed,
Shall be fading from their hearts;
When their first warm faith departs;
These Thy children, Lord, defend;
Keep them faithful to the end.Through life’s conflicts guard us all,
Or if wounded some should fall
Ere the victory be won,
For the sake of Christ, Thy Son,
These Thy children, Lord, defend;
And in death Thy comfort bend.Play source: Cyberhymnal
