8:2 Remember the whole way by which he 1  has brought you these forty years through the desert 2  so that he might, by humbling you, test you to see if you have it within you to keep his commandments or not.

Regulations for Profane Slaughter

12:15 On the other hand, you may slaughter and eat meat as you please when the Lord your God blesses you 3  in all your villages. 4  Both the ritually pure and impure may eat it, whether it is a gazelle or an ibex.
