Deuteronomy 4:10

Context
4:10 You 1  stood before the Lord your God at Horeb and he 2  said to me, “Assemble the people before me so that I can tell them my commands. 3  Then they will learn to revere me all the days they live in the land, and they will instruct their children.”

Deuteronomy 7:13

Context
7:13 He will love and bless you, and make you numerous. He will bless you with many children, 4  with the produce of your soil, your grain, your new wine, your oil, the offspring of your oxen, and the young of your flocks in the land which he promised your ancestors to give you.

Deuteronomy 12:28

Context
12:28 Pay careful attention to all these things I am commanding you so that it may always go well with you and your children after you when you do what is good and right in the sight of the Lord your God.

Deuteronomy 30:9

Context
30:9 The Lord your God will make the labor of your hands 5  abundantly successful and multiply your children, 6  the offspring of your cattle, and the produce of your soil. For the Lord your God will once more 7  rejoice over you to make you prosperous 8  just as he rejoiced over your ancestors,

1 tn The text begins with “(the) day (in) which.” In the Hebrew text v. 10 is subordinate to v. 11, but for stylistic reasons the translation treats v. 10 as an independent clause, necessitating the omission of the subordinating temporal phrase at the beginning of the verse.

2 tn Heb “the Lord.” See note on “he” in 4:3.

3 tn Heb “my words.” See v. 13; in Hebrew the “ten commandments” are the “ten words.”

4 tn Heb “will bless the fruit of your womb” (so NAB, NIV, NRSV).

5 tc The MT reads “hand” (singular). Most versions read the plural.

6 tn Heb “the fruit of your womb” (so NAB, NIV); NRSV “of your body.”

7 tn Heb “return and.” The Hebrew verb is used idiomatically here to indicate the repetition of the following action.

8 tn The Hebrew text includes “for good.”
