1 tn Heb “was left to him.” The final phrase “to him” is redundant in English and has been left untranslated.

2 tn Heb “the Lord your God.” The pronoun has been used in the translation for stylistic reasons.

3 tn Or “wilderness” (so KJV, NRSV, NLT); likewise in v. 15.

4 tn Heb “border.”

5 tn Heb “to the Lord your God.” See note on the second occurrence of the word “he” in v. 3.
