Deuteronomy 20:7

Context
20:7 Or who among you¹ has become engaged to a woman but has not married her? He may go home, lest he die in battle and someone else marry her.”

Deuteronomy 28:30

Context
28:30 You will be engaged to a woman and another man will rape² her. You will build a house but not live in it. You will plant a vineyard but not even begin to use it.

¹tn Heb “Who [is] the man.”

²tc For MT reading שָׁגַל (shagal, “ravish; violate”), the Syriac, Targum, and Vulgate presume the less violent שָׁכַב (shakhav, “lie with”). The unexpected counterpart to betrothal here favors the originality of the MT.

displaying	set the max displaying in one page.	"20" will set displaying max to 20 per page
range	set searching range	"All Bible", "Old Testament", "New Testament"
