Deuteronomy 2:27

2:27 “Let me pass through your land; I will keep strictly to the roadway. 1  I will not turn aside to the right or the left.

Deuteronomy 9:14

Context
9:14 Stand aside 2  and I will destroy them, obliterating their very name from memory, 3  and I will make you into a stronger and more numerous nation than they are.”

Deuteronomy 17:17

17:17 Furthermore, he must not marry many 4  wives lest his affections turn aside, and he must not accumulate much silver and gold.

1 tn Heb “in the way in the way” (בַּדֶּרֶךְ בַּדֶּרֶךְ, baderekh baderekh). The repetition lays great stress on the idea of resolute determination to stick to the path. IBHS 116 §7.2.3c.

2 tn Heb “leave me alone.”

3 tn Heb “from under heaven.”

4 tn Heb “must not multiply” (cf. KJV, NASB); NLT “must not take many.”
