Deuteronomy 14:23

14:23 In the presence of the Lord your God you must eat from the tithe of your grain, your new wine, 1  your olive oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks in the place he chooses to locate his name, so that you may learn to revere the Lord your God always.

Deuteronomy 16:15

Context
16:15 You are to celebrate the festival seven days before the Lord your God in the place he 2  chooses, for he 3  will bless you in all your productivity and in whatever you do; 4  so you will indeed rejoice!

Deuteronomy 18:16

Context
18:16 This accords with what happened at Horeb in the day of the assembly. You asked the Lord your God: “Please do not make us hear the voice of the Lord our 5  God any more or see this great fire any more lest we die.”

Deuteronomy 27:3

Context
27:3 Then you must inscribe on them all the words of this law when you cross over, so that you may enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, a land flowing with milk and honey just as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, 6  said to you.

1 tn This refers to wine in the early stages of fermentation. In its later stages it becomes wine (יַיִן, yayin) in its mature sense.

2 tn Heb “the Lord.” See note on “he” in 16:1.

3 tn Heb “the Lord your God.” See note on “he” in 16:1.

4 tn Heb “in all the work of your hands” (so NASB, NIV); NAB, NRSV “in all your undertakings.”

5 tn The Hebrew text uses the collective singular in this verse: “my God…lest I die.”

6 tn Heb “fathers.”
