Deuteronomy 33:19

Context

33:19 They will summon peoples to the mountain,

there they will sacrifice proper 5  sacrifices;

for they will enjoy 6  the abundance of the seas,

and the hidden treasures of the shores. 7

1 tn Heb “heave offerings of your hand.”

2 sn These other sacrifices would be so-called peace or fellowship offerings whose ritual required a different use of the blood from that of burnt (sin and trespass) offerings (cf. Lev 3; 7:11-14, 19-21).

3 tn Heb “on the altar of the Lord your God.” The pronoun has been used in the translation for stylistic reasons to avoid redundancy.

4 tn Heb “judgment”; KJV, NASB, NRSV “the priest’s due.”

5 tn Or “acceptable”; Heb “righteous” (so NASB).

6 tn Heb “suck.”

7 tn Heb “of the sand” (so NRSV, NLT); CEV “the sandy beach.”
