Deuteronomy 11:9

11:9 and that you may enjoy long life in the land the Lord promised to give to your ancestors 1  and their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey.

Deuteronomy 24:6

24:6 One must not take either lower or upper millstones as security on a loan, for that is like taking a life itself as security. 2 

Deuteronomy 30:15

30:15 “Look! I have set before you today life and prosperity on the one hand, and death and disaster on the other.

2 sn Taking millstones as security on a loan would amount to taking the owner’s own life in pledge, since the millstones were the owner’s means of earning a living and supporting his family.
