Daniel 6:4

Context
6:4 Consequently the supervisors and satraps were trying to find 1  some pretext against Daniel in connection with administrative matters. 2  But they were unable to find any such damaging evidence, 3  because he was trustworthy and guilty of no negligence or corruption. 4 

Daniel 11:8

11:8 He will also take their gods into captivity to Egypt, along with their cast images and prized utensils of silver and gold. Then he will withdraw for some years from 5  the king of the north.

Daniel 11:13

Context
11:13 For the king of the north will again muster an army, one larger than before. At the end of some years he will advance with a huge army and enormous supplies.

11:33 These who are wise among the people will teach the masses. 6  However, they will fall 7  by the sword and by the flame, 8  and they will be imprisoned and plundered for some time. 9

4 tn Aram “no negligence or corruption was found in him.” The Greek version of Theodotion lacks the phrase “and no negligence or corruption was found in him.”

5 tn The Hebrew preposition מִן (min) is used here with the verb עָמַד (’amad, “to stand”). It probably has a sense of separation (“stand away from”), although it may also be understood in an adversative sense (“stand against”).

6 tn Heb “the many.”

7 tn Heb “stumble.”

8 tn Or “by burning.”

9 tn Heb “days.”
