Daniel 7:10

Context

7:10 A river of fire was streaming forth

and proceeding from his presence.

Many thousands were ministering to him;

Many tens of thousands stood ready to serve him. 6

The court convened 7

Daniel 10:7

Context

10:7 Only I, Daniel, saw the vision; the men who were with me did not see it. 8  On the contrary, they were overcome with fright 9  and ran away to hide.

1 tn The Aramaic text does not have “and.” The term “astrologers” is either an appositive for “wise men” (cf. KJV, NKJV, ASV, RSV, NRSV), or the construction is to be understood as asyndetic (so the translation above).

2 tn Aram “looking to find.”

3 tn Aram “from the side of the kingdom.”

4 tn Aram “pretext and corruption.”

5 tn Aram “no negligence or corruption was found in him.” The Greek version of Theodotion lacks the phrase “and no negligence or corruption was found in him.”

6 tn Aram “were standing before him.”

7 tn Aram “judgment sat.”

8 tn Heb “the vision.”

9 tn Heb “great trembling fell on them.”
