4:31 While these words were still on the king’s lips, 1  a voice came down from heaven: “It is hereby announced to you, 2  King Nebuchadnezzar, that your kingdom has been removed from you!

6:20 As he approached the den, he called out to Daniel in a worried voice, 3  “Daniel, servant of the living God, was your God whom you continually serve able to rescue you from the lions?”

Daniel 10:6

Context
10:6 His body resembled yellow jasper, 4  and his face had an appearance like lightning. His eyes were like blazing torches; 5  his arms and feet had the gleam of polished bronze. His voice 6  thundered forth like the sound of a large crowd.

1 tn Aram “in the mouth of the king.”

2 tn Aram “to you they say.”

3 tn Aram “The king answered and said to Daniel.” This phrase has not been included in the translation for stylistic reasons; it is redundant in English.

4 tn The Hebrew word translated “yellow jasper” is תַּרשִׁישׁ (tarshish); it appears to be a semiprecious stone, but its exact identity is somewhat uncertain. It may be the yellow jasper, although this is conjectural. Cf. NAB, NIV “chrysolite”; NASB, NRSV “beryl.”

5 tn Heb “torches of fire.”

6 tn Heb “The sound of his words” (cf. v. 9).
