9:19 O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, pay attention, and act! Don’t delay, for your own sake, O my God! For your city and your people are called by your name.”⁴

¹tn Aram “answered and said,” a common Aramaic idiom that occurs repeatedly in this chapter.

²sn O king, live forever! is a comment of typical court courtesy that is not necessarily indicative of the real sentiments of the speaker. Ancient oriental court protocol could sometimes require a certain amount of hypocrisy.

³tn Aram “with.”

⁴tn Heb “for your name is called over your city and your people.” See the note on this expression in v 18.

displaying	set the max displaying in one page.	"20" will set displaying max to 20 per page
