Daniel 3:3

Context
3:3 So the satraps, prefects, governors, counselors, treasurers, judges, magistrates, and all the other provincial authorities assembled for the dedication of the statue that King Nebuchadnezzar had erected. They were standing in front of the statue that Nebuchadnezzar had erected. 1

Daniel 6:23

Context

6:23 Then the king was delighted and gave an order to haul Daniel up from the den. So Daniel was hauled up out of the den. He had no injury of any kind, because he had trusted in his God.

Daniel 10:6

Context
10:6 His body resembled yellow jasper, 2  and his face had an appearance like lightning. His eyes were like blazing torches; 3  his arms and feet had the gleam of polished bronze. His voice 4  thundered forth like the sound of a large crowd.

1 tc The LXX and Theodotion lack the words “that Nebuchadnezzar had erected.”

2 tn The Hebrew word translated “yellow jasper” is תַּרשִׁישׁ (tarshish); it appears to be a semiprecious stone, but its exact identity is somewhat uncertain. It may be the yellow jasper, although this is conjectural. Cf. NAB, NIV “chrysolite”; NASB, NRSV “beryl.”

3 tn Heb “torches of fire.”

4 tn Heb “The sound of his words” (cf. v. 9).
