Context3:24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar was startled and quickly got up. He said to his ministers, “Wasn’t it three men that we tied up and threw 1 into 2 the fire?” They replied to the king, “For sure, O king.”
Daniel 6:23
Context6:23 Then the king was delighted and gave an order to haul Daniel up from the den. So Daniel was hauled up out of the den. He had no injury of any kind, because he had trusted in his God.
Daniel 7:5
Context7:5 “Then 3 a second beast appeared, like a bear. It was raised up on one side, and there were three ribs 4 in its mouth between its teeth. 5 It was told, 6 ‘Get up and devour much flesh!’
Daniel 8:3
Context8:3 I looked up 7 and saw 8 a 9 ram with two horns standing at the canal. Its two horns were both long, 10 but one was longer than the other. The longer one was coming up after the shorter one.

3 tn Aram “and behold.”
4 sn The three ribs held securely in the mouth of the bear, perhaps representing Media-Persia, apparently symbolize military conquest, but the exact identity of the “ribs” is not clear. Possibly it is a reference to the Persian conquest of Lydia, Egypt, and Babylonia.
5 tc The LXX lacks the phrase “between its teeth.”
6 tn Aram “and thus they were saying to it.”
7 tn Heb “lifted my eyes.”
8 tn Heb “and behold.”
9 tn Heb “one.” The Hebrew numerical adjective occasionally functions like an English indefinite article. See GKC 401 §125.b.
10 tn Heb “high” (also “higher” later in this verse).
