Daniel 2:29

2:29 “As for you, O king, while you were in your bed your thoughts turned to future things. 1  The revealer of mysteries has made known to you what will take place.

Daniel 4:22

Context
4:22 it is you, 2  O king! For you have become great and strong. Your greatness is such that it reaches to heaven, and your authority to the ends of the earth.

2 sn Much of modern scholarship views this chapter as a distortion of traditions that were originally associated with Nabonidus rather than with Nebuchadnezzar. A Qumran text, the Prayer of Nabonidus, is often cited for parallels to these events.

3 tn Or “the.”

4 tn Heb “in your name.” Another option is to translate, “as your representatives.”

5 tn Heb “our fathers” (also in vv. 8, 16). The Hebrew term translated “father” can refer to more distant relationships such as grandfathers or ancestors.

6 tn Heb “people.”
