Daniel 2:28

2:28 However, there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, 1  and he has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in the times to come. 2  The dream and the visions you had while lying on your bed 3  are as follows.

Daniel 2:44

Context
2:44 In the days of those kings the God of heaven will raise up an everlasting kingdom that will not be destroyed and a kingdom that will not be left to another people. It will break in pieces and bring about the demise of all these kingdoms. But it will stand forever.

Daniel 3:14

3:14 Nebuchadnezzar said to them, “Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you don’t serve my gods and that you don’t pay homage to the golden statue that I erected?

Daniel 6:16

6:16 So the king gave the order, 4  and Daniel was brought and thrown into a den 5  of lions. The king consoled 6  Daniel by saying, “Your God whom you continually serve will rescue you!”

Daniel 6:23

Context

6:23 Then the king was delighted and gave an order to haul Daniel up from the den. So Daniel was hauled up out of the den. He had no injury of any kind, because he had trusted in his God.

Daniel 9:13-15

9:13 Just as it is written in the law of Moses, so all this calamity has come on us. Still we have not tried to pacify 7  the LORD our God by turning back from our sin and by seeking wisdom 8  from your reliable moral standards. 9  9:14 The LORD was mindful of the calamity, and he brought it on us. For the LORD our God is just 10  in all he has done, 11  and we have not obeyed him. 12 

9:15 “Now, O Lord our God, who brought your people out of the land of Egypt with great power 13  and made a name for yourself that is remembered to this day – we have sinned and behaved wickedly.

1 tn Aram “a revealer of mysteries.” The phrase serves as a quasi-title for God in Daniel.

2 tn Aram “in the latter days.”

3 tn Aram “your dream and the visions of your head upon your bed.”

4 tn Aram “said.” So also in vv. 24, 25.

5 sn The den was perhaps a pit below ground level which could be safely observed from above.

6 tn Aram “answered and said [to Daniel].”

7 tn Heb “we have not pacified the face of.”

8 tn Or “by gaining insight.”

9 tn Heb “by your truth.” The Hebrew term does not refer here to abstract truth, however, but to the reliable moral guidance found in the covenant law. See vv 10-11.

10 tn Or “righteous.”

11 tn Heb “in all his deeds which he has done.”

12 tn Heb “we have not listened to his voice.”

13 tn Heb “with a powerful hand.”
