• [Dan 2:23] My God, I Thank Thee

  My God, I thank Thee, who hast made The earth so bright, So full of splendor and of joy, Beauty and light; So many glorious things are here, Noble and right. I thank Thee, too, that Thou hast made Joy to abound; So many gentle thoughts and deeds Circling us round, That in the darkest spot of earth Some love is found. I thank Thee more that all our joy Is touched with pain, That shadows fall on brightest hours, That thorns remain; So that earth’s bliss may be our guide, And not our chain. For thou who knowest, Lord, how soon Our weak heart clings, Hast given us joys, tender and true, Yet all with wings; So that we see gleaming on high Diviner things. I thank Thee, Lord, that Thou hast kept The best in store; We have enough, yet not too much To long for more: A yearning for a deeper peace Not known before. I thank Thee, Lord, that here our souls Though amply blessed, Can never find, although they seek A perfect rest; Nor ever shall, until they lean On Jesus’ breast.

• [Dan 6:10] Brave Daniel

  With the window open wide, And the foe so near, Daniel bows before his God, Without doubt or fear. Refrain Brave Daniel! brave Daniel! Ever good and true; If, like him, to God we’re faithful, He’ll bring us safely through. Hark! the voice of prayer and praise, Full of joy and peace; King’s decree and lion’s den Cannot make it cease! Refrain In the lion’s den, behold, Daniel sweetly sleeps; While the guardian angel there, Holy vigil keeps. Refrain God is watching o’er His own, With all-seeing eye; Vainly foes against them rage; They but rage—and die. Refrain

• [Dan 6:10] Do You See The Hebrew Captive Kneeling?

  Do you see the Hebrew captive kneeling, At morning, noon and night, to pray? In his chamber he remembers Zion, Though in exile far away. Refrain Are your windows open toward Jerusalem, Though as captives here, a “little while” we stay? For the coming of the King in His glory Are you watching day by day? Refrain Do not fear to tread the fiery furnace, Nor shrink the lion’s den to share; For the God of Daniel will deliver, He will send His angel there. Refrain Children of the living God, take courage, Your great deliverance sweetly sing. Set your faces toward the hill of Zion, Thence to hail your coming King. Refrain
