Daniel 2:23

Context

2:23 O God of my fathers, I acknowledge and glorify you,

for you have bestowed wisdom and power on me.

Now you have enabled me to understand what I 1  requested from you.

For you have enabled me to understand the king’s dilemma.” 2

Daniel 10:16

Context
10:16 Then 3  one who appeared to be a human being 4  was touching my lips. I opened my mouth and started to speak, saying to the one who was standing before me, “Sir, 5  due to the vision, anxiety has gripped me and I have no strength.

Daniel 10:19

Context
10:19 He said to me, “Don’t be afraid, you who are valued. 6  Peace be to you! Be strong! Be really strong!” When he spoke to me, I was strengthened. I said, “Sir, you may speak now, 7  for you have given me strength.”

1 tn Aram “we.” Various explanations have been offered for the plural, but it is probably best understood as the editorial plural; so also with “me” later in this verse.

2 tn Aram “the word of the king.”

3 tn Heb “Behold.”

4 tc So most Hebrew MSS; one Hebrew MS along with the Dead Sea Scrolls and LXX read “something that looked like a man’s hand.”

5 tn Heb “my lord,” here a title of polite address. Cf. v. 19.

6 tn Heb “treasured man.”

7 tn Heb “my lord may speak.”
