Daniel 1:11
Context1:11 Daniel then spoke to the warden 1 whom the overseer of the court officials had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:

Context6:2 Over them would be three supervisors, one of whom was Daniel. These satraps were accountable 2 to them, so that the king’s interests might not incur damage.
Daniel 8:11
Context8:11 It also acted arrogantly against the Prince of the army, 3 from whom 4 the daily sacrifice was removed and whose sanctuary 5 was thrown down.
1 sn Having failed to convince the overseer, Daniel sought the favor of the warden whom the overseer had appointed to care for the young men.
2 tn Aram “giving an account.”
3 sn The prince of the army may refer to God (cf. “whose sanctuary” later in the verse) or to the angel Michael (cf. 12:1).
4 tn Or perhaps “and by him,” referring to Antiochus rather than to God.
5 sn Here the sanctuary is a reference to the temple of God in Jerusalem.
