Acts 15:32

Context
15:32 Both Judas and Silas, who were prophets themselves, encouraged and strengthened the brothers with a long speech. 5

1 tn Grk “to take the place.”

2 tn Or “of this ministry.”

3 tn Or “the task of this service and apostleship which Judas ceased to perform.”

4 sn To go to his own place. This may well be a euphemism for Judas’ judged fate. He separated himself from them, and thus separated he would remain.

5 tn Here λόγου (logou) is singular. BDAG 599-600 s.v. λόγος 1.a.β has “in a long speech” for this phrase.
