4:8 They brought the head of Ish-bosheth to David in Hebron, saying to the king, “Look! The head of Ish-bosheth son of Saul, your enemy who sought your life! The Lord has granted vengeance to my lord the king this day against 1  Saul and his descendants!”

2 Samuel 14:30

Context
14:30 So he said to his servants, “Look, Joab has a portion of field adjacent to mine and he has some barley there. Go and set it on fire.” 2  So Absalom’s servants set Joab’s 3  portion of the field on fire.

2 Samuel 19:37

Context
19:37 Let me 4  return so that I may die in my own city near the grave of my father and my mother. But look, here is your servant Kimham. Let him cross over with my lord the king. Do for him whatever seems appropriate to you.”

1 tn Heb “from.”

2 tc The LXX adds here the following words: “And the servants of Absalom burned them up. And the servants of Joab came to him, rending their garments. They said….”

3 tn The word “Joab’s” is not in the Hebrew text, but has been supplied in the translation for stylistic reasons.

4 tn Heb “your servant.”
