Context5:8 When Elisha the prophet 1 heard that the king had torn his clothes, he sent this message to the king, “Why did you tear your clothes? Send him 2 to me so he may know there is a prophet in Israel.”
2 Kings 5:22
Context5:22 He answered, “Everything is fine. 3 My master sent me with this message, ‘Look, two servants of the prophets just arrived from the Ephraimite hill country. 4 Please give them a talent 5 of silver and two suits of clothes.’”
2 Kings 9:5
Context9:5 When he arrived, the officers of the army were sitting there. 6 So he said, “I have a message for you, O officer.” 7 Jehu asked, “For which one of us?” 8 He replied, “For you, O officer.”

5 tn The Hebrew term כִּכָּר (kikkar, “circle”) refers generally to something that is round. When used of metals it can refer to a disk-shaped weight made of the metal or to a standard unit of weight, generally regarded as a talent. Since the accepted weight for a talent of metal is about 75 pounds, this would have amounted to about 75 pounds of silver (cf. NCV, NLT, CEV).
