9:16 Jehu drove his chariot 2  to Jezreel, for Joram was recuperating 3  there. (Now King Ahaziah of Judah had come down to visit 4  Joram.)

2 Kings 9:20

9:20 The watchman reported, “He reached them, but hasn’t started back. The one who drives the lead chariot drives like Jehu son of Nimshi; 5  he drives recklessly.”

2 Kings 10:16

Context
10:16 Jehu 6  said, “Come with me and see how zealous I am for the Lord’s cause.” 7  So he 8  took him along in his chariot.

1 tn Heb “Is there peace?”

2 tn Heb “rode [or, ‘mounted’] and went.”

3 tn Heb “lying down.”

4 tn Heb “to see.”

5 tn Heb “and the driving is like the driving of Jehu son of Nimshi.”

6 tn Heb “he”; the referent (Jehu) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

7 tn Heb “and see my zeal for the Lord.”

8 tc The MT has a plural form, but this is most likely an error. The LXX, Syriac Peshitta, and Vulgate all have the singular.
