4:2 Elisha said to her, “What can I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” She answered, “Your servant has nothing in the house except a small jar of olive oil.”

2 tn Heb “the man of God.” The phrase has been replaced by the relative pronoun “he” in the translation for stylistic reasons.

3 tn Heb “the sons of the prophets were sitting before him.”

4 tn The words “the fire” are added for clarification.

5 tn Heb “sons of the prophets.”

6 tn Heb “and now when this letter comes to you, look, I have sent to you Naaman my servant.”

7 tn Heb “said” (i.e., to himself).

8 tn Heb “Look, my master spared this Syrian Naaman by not taking from his hand what he brought.”

9 tn Heb “and he saw, and look.”

10 tn Heb “It is the word of the Lord, which he spoke by the hand of his servant, Elijah the Tishbite, saying.”

17 tn Heb “all that Moses, the Lord’s servant, had commanded, and they did not listen and they did not act.”
