2 Corinthians 7:11

Context
7:11 For see what this very thing, this sadness 1  as God intended, has produced in you: what eagerness, what defense of yourselves, 2  what indignation, 3  what alarm, what longing, what deep concern, 4  what punishment! 5  In everything you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter.

2 Corinthians 11:9

Context
11:9 When 6  I was with you and was in need, I was not a burden to anyone, for the brothers who came from Macedonia fully supplied my needs. 7  I 8  kept myself from being a burden to you in any way, and will continue to do so.

2 Corinthians 13:7

Context
13:7 Now we pray to God that you may not do anything wrong, not so that we may appear to have passed the test, 9  but so that you may do what is right 10  even if we may appear to have failed the test. 11

1 tn Grk “this very thing, to be grieved.”

2 tn The words “of yourselves” are not in the Greek text but are implied.

3 sn What indignation refers to the Corinthians’ indignation at the offender.

4 tn Or “what zeal.”

5 sn That is, punishment for the offender.

6 tn Grk “you, and when.” A new sentence was started here in the translation.

7 tn If the participle ἐλθόντες (elqonte") is taken as temporal rather than adjectival, the translation would be, “for the brothers, when they came from Macedonia, fully supplied my needs” (similar to NASB).

8 tn Grk “needs, and I kept.” A new sentence was started here in the translation.

9 tn Or “that we may appear to be approved.”

10 tn Or “what is good.”

11 tn Or “even if we appear disapproved.”
