5:3 All the men of Israel assembled before the king during the festival 1  in the seventh month. 2  5:4 When all Israel’s elders had arrived, the Levites lifted the ark.

6 tn Heb “and the priests and the Levites who were in all Israel supported him from all their territory.”

7 tn Or “fair,” meaning the Lord’s punishment of them was just or fair.

8 tn Heb “Many days.”

9 tn Heb “and strengthened himself over Israel.”

10 tn Heb “he.” The pronoun has been translated as a relative pronoun for stylistic reasons.

11 tn Heb “and Judah was struck down before Israel and they fled, each to his tent.”
