2 Chronicles 26:21

Context
26:21 King Uzziah suffered from a skin disease until the day he died. He lived in separate quarters, 1  afflicted by a skin disease and banned from the Lord’s temple. His son Jotham was in charge of the palace and ruled over the people of the land.

2 Chronicles 29:34

Context
29:34 But there were not enough priests to skin all the animals, 2  so their brothers, the Levites, helped them until the work was finished and the priests could consecrate themselves. (The Levites had been more conscientious about consecrating themselves than the priests.) 3

1 tn The precise meaning of בֵּית הַחָפְשִׁית (bet hakhafshiyt, “house of [?]”) is uncertain. NASB, NIV, NRSV all have “in a separate house”; NEB has “in his own house…relieved of all duties.” For a discussion of various proposals, see M. Cogan and H. Tadmor, II Kings (AB), 166-67.

2 tn Heb “the burnt sacrifices.”

3 tn Heb “for the Levites were more pure of heart to consecrate themselves than the priests.”
