2 Chronicles 21:10

Context
21:10 So Edom has remained free from Judah’s control to this very day. 1  At that same time Libnah also rebelled and freed themselves from Judah’s control 2  because Jehoram 3  rejected the Lord God of his ancestors.

2 Chronicles 36:14

Context
36:14 All the leaders of the priests and people became more unfaithful and committed the same horrible sins practiced by the nations. 4  They defiled the Lord’s temple which he had consecrated in Jerusalem.

1 tn Heb “and Edom rebelled from under the hand of Judah until this day.”

2 tn Or “from Jehoram’s control”; Heb “from under his hand.” The pronominal suffix may refer to Judah in general or, more specifically, to Jehoram.

3 tn Heb “he.” This pronoun could refer to Judah, but the context focuses on Jehoram’s misdeeds. See especially v. 11.

4 tn Heb “like the abominable practices of the nations.”
