20:16 Tomorrow march down against them as 1  they come up the Ascent of Ziz. You will find them at the end of the ravine in front of the Desert of Jeruel.

2 Chronicles 20:24

20:24 When the men of Judah 2  arrived at the observation post overlooking the desert and looked at 3  the huge army, they saw dead bodies on the ground; there were no survivors!

2 Chronicles 26:10

26:10 He built towers in the desert and dug many cisterns, for he owned many herds in the lowlands 4  and on the plain. He had workers in the fields and vineyards in the hills and in Carmel, 5  for he loved agriculture. 6 

1 tn Heb “look.”

2 tn Heb “Judah.” The words “the men of” are supplied in the translation for clarity. The Hebrew text uses the name “Judah” by metonymy for the men of Judah.

3 tn Heb “turned toward.”

4 tn Heb “Shephelah.”

5 tn Heb “workers and vinedressers in the hills and in Carmel.” The words “he had” are supplied in the translation for stylistic reasons.

6 tn Heb “for a lover of the ground he [was].”
